We held our annual banquet at the Florian Gardens on September 30. The program line-up was designed to be informative, inspiring, and God honoring. The music was led by a team from Eau Claire Wesleyan Church The slide show that gave glimpses into what has transpired at Hope Gospel Mission the last ten years. Our volunteers were recognized, some received service awards, and one of them shared what volunteering means to him.
Our President, Mark Donnelly, told how Hope Gospel Mission was birthed He gave a good overview of how the mission has grown and how and why needed changes have been made.
Then a video showing the testimonies of four of our current residents was played. The men talked of their former life, why they came to the mission, and what it has meant to them.
Lastly, our special speaker, Mike Yankoski the author of Under the Overpass, spoke about his experience of being a homeless man for five months in America. He told some moving personal stories and ended by contrasting two lives and bringing it home to Eau Claire and to our audience.
Hope Gospel Mission was recognized at the annual Association of Gospel Rescue Missions conference as a Certified Mission. HGM became the fastest mission to reach certification in the ninety-five year history of the AGRM.

The atmosphere at the mission(and the Ruth House) is one of hominess with a strongly structured routine to help residents break the habit(s) which keep them from being the men and women God intended them to be.
