Hope Gospel Mission is pleased to announce its new store Building Hope is now open for business. Building Hope is the first of its kind in Western Wisconsin, a building materials Re-Use center.
Our first store, Hope Gospel Mission’s Bargain Center was created to fund the programs of the mission and Ruth House as well as to provide hands on job training for the participants of Hope Gospel Mission’s Renewed Hope program. Teaching people how to obtain and keep a stable job is a major goal of our program. We have found however, that many of the influences at low paying jobs often lead back to the struggles that caused our program participants to become homeless. Our newest business “Building Hope” was created to provide paid job training for the participants of Hope Gospel Mission’s Renewed Hope Program while they complete the program. By employing our residents, we will help more program participants graduate from the full one and one half to two year program at Hope Gospel Mission. While working at Building Hope, our program participants will work with their financial advisor to pay down debt, pay child support, and save money which will be used to start over upon graduation from the program. While employed by Building Hope, our residents will also learn key customer service skills, retail management skills, construction skills as well as many other things that will help them to once again become successful members of society. In addition to job training, profits from Building Hope will help support Hope Gospel Mission’s Men’s Shelter and Ruth House Women’s Shelter.
Building Hope is environmentally responsible and will divert hundreds of thousands of pounds of landfill-bound construction and demolition debris from area landfills annually. So the next time you decide to replace or update cabinetry, doors, windows or any other building items, please keep Building Hope in mind. You can drop off new or reusable building materials at either of our Eau Claire locations or call 838-2084 to schedule a pick up on any of your larger items.”
